Historical background – Leonhardt Ventures LLC, the parent of Lionheart Health, Inc., has led the completion of muscle stem cell (immature myoblasts) clinical studies for muscle recovery (heart) including published pilot, Phase I, Phase II and Phase II/III studies with FDA clearance but not for this same precise indication of use. The muscle cell clinical studies followed animal studies which began in 1988 focused primarily on safety at McGill University, Navarre University, American Cardiovascular Research Institute, Allegheny General Pittsburgh, Erasmus University, East Tennessee State, Duke University and Columbia University. The previous clinical studies at multiple locations in the USA and Europe were one time delivery of muscle cells with no nutrient hydrogel and no bioelectric stimulation support. Animal studies have been published in the European Heart Journal for repeat deliveries demonstrating superiority over one time delivery. Genetically modified stem cell and nutrient hydrogel studies have been sponsored by Leonhardt Ventures LLC and were published and presented by teams at the University of Florida and Cleveland Clinic.
