Leonhardt Ventures Files Provisional Patent Application for Bioelectric Enhancement of Menin Expression in the Brain

Jun 1, 2026

Licensed to Lionheart Health for Development Through the Brain Band™ Platform

Huntington Beach, California – June 1, 2026 – Leonhardt Ventures LLC announced today the filing of a provisional patent application covering methods and systems for the bioelectric enhancement and control of Menin protein expression in the brain, with exclusive rights licensed to Lionheart Health, Inc. for commercialization and clinical development.

The patent filing follows the publication of groundbreaking research on May 24, 2026 identifying Menin, a protein located within the hypothalamus, as a potential master regulator of aging throughout the body.

The research demonstrated that declining Menin levels in the hypothalamus may trigger a cascade of age-related changes, including increased inflammation, memory decline, loss of muscle mass, reduced bone density, and accelerated tissue aging. In animal studies, restoration of Menin levels reversed multiple aging markers simultaneously.

One Protein. One Brain Region. Your Entire Body’s Aging Clock.

The findings suggest that aging may be governed, at least in part, by a central biological control system located within the brain. If confirmed in humans, enhancing Menin expression could provide a powerful new approach to influencing healthspan and longevity throughout the body.

The Leonhardt Ventures provisional patent application covers proprietary bioelectric signaling methods, stimulation parameters, waveforms, treatment protocols, wearable systems, implantable systems, and software designed to enhance Menin expression and activity in targeted brain regions, including the hypothalamus.

The technology is intended for development through Lionheart Health’s Brain Band™ platform, which is focused on bioelectric enhancement of regenerative and longevity-related protein expressions.

“Over the past several years we have developed a substantial intellectual property portfolio focused on bioelectric control of regenerative protein expression,” said Howard J. Leonhardt, Founder and Managing Member of Leonhardt Ventures LLC and Executive Chairman of Lionheart Health, Inc. “The discovery of Menin as a potential master aging regulator fits perfectly with our strategy of identifying critical protein expression targets that can be safely influenced through precisely applied bioelectric signaling.”

The Brain Band™ platform is currently being evaluated for its potential to influence numerous healthspan-associated pathways, including Klotho, BDNF, GDF10, SDF1, Sirtuins, Sestrins, Apelin, eNOS, VEGF, Sonic Hedgehog and other regenerative signaling proteins.

“Most anti-aging strategies focus on treating individual organs or symptoms,” Leonhardt added. “The Menin discovery suggests that one of the most effective places to intervene may be at the source—the brain’s central aging control center itself.”

Lionheart Health plans to evaluate Menin-focused Brain Band™ protocols in future research initiatives aimed at cognitive performance, healthy aging, inflammation reduction, muscle preservation, bone health, and overall healthspan enhancement.

Research involving Menin remains in the early investigational stage. No claims are being made regarding the treatment, cure, mitigation, or prevention of any disease. Additional preclinical and clinical research will be required to determine safety and efficacy in humans.

Leonhardt Ventures LLC and Lionheart Health, Inc. acknowledge and commend the pioneering work of Dr. Lige Leng, Dr. Jie Zhang, and colleagues at Xiamen University, China, whose research helped identify the critical role of hypothalamic Menin in the aging process. Their findings, published in PLOS Biology and highlighted by ScienceDaily on May 24, 2026, demonstrated that declining Menin expression in the hypothalamus is associated with inflammation, cognitive decline, bone loss, muscle deterioration, and other age-related changes, while restoration of Menin expression reversed multiple aging markers in animal models. Leonhardt Ventures’ provisional patent application is intended to explore a novel bioelectric approach to enhancing Menin expression and is built upon, and inspired by, these important scientific discoveries.
